Highland Park is a renowned single malt Scotch whisky brand established in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, a church officer and illicit distiller from Orkney, Scotland. The distillery is located in Kirkwall, the capital of the Orkney Islands, and is recognized as the northernmost single malt Scotch whisky distillery. Highland Park is celebrated for its unique production process, which includes the use of local heathered peat from Hobbister Moor, imparting a distinctive lightly smoky flavor to its whiskies. The distillery employs traditional methods, such as floor malting, and matures its whiskies exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks, both American and European, to enhance the depth and complexity of the spirit. Over the years, Highland Park has expanded its range to include various age expressions, from 12 to 54 years old, and has introduced limited editions and special releases. In 1999, the Edrington Group acquired Highland Distillers, the parent company of Highland Park, integrating it into their portfolio of premium spirits. Edrington Group is headquartered in Scotland and continues to oversee the production and distribution of Highland Park whiskies globally. The brand's commitment to quality and its rich heritage have solidified its position as a respected name in the Scotch whisky industry.
