Fernet-Branca is a world-renowned brand of bitter herbal liqueur, often referred to as an amaro or digestif. It was founded in 1845 by Bernardino Branca in Milan, Italy. The recipe remains a closely guarded family secret, supposedly containing 27 different herbs, roots, and spices gathered from four continents, including rhubarb, chamomile, and saffron. The brand is famous for its iconic logo featuring an eagle clutching a world globe, designed by Leopoldo Metlicovitz in 1895.

While the primary manufacturing hub remains the Fratelli Branca distillery in Milan, the brand has a significant historical presence in Argentina, where it is incredibly popular and produced locally in Buenos Aires. The company remains an independent family-owned entity through Fratelli Branca Distillerie S.r.l., maintaining its heritage and production standards as it approaches nearly two centuries of operation. The spirit is aged in oak barrels for at least one year before being bottled and distributed globally.
