The AeroPress is a manual coffee brewer invented by Alan Adler, founder of Aerobie, Inc., in 2004. Designed to reduce acidity and bitterness in coffee, it combines elements of French press, pour-over, and espresso brewing methods. The device consists of a cylindrical brewing chamber, a plunger with an airtight silicone seal, and a filter cap that holds a paper or mesh filter. Coffee is steeped inside the chamber and then forced through the filter by pressing the plunger down. In 2017, the rights to the AeroPress were acquired by Spin Master, leading to the formation of AeroPress, Inc. The company has since expanded its product line to include various models and accessories, such as the AeroPress Go, a travel-sized version, and the AeroPress Premium, which features a glass-and-metal construction. The AeroPress is manufactured primarily in the USA, with some models produced in other locations. The brand is headquartered in the USA and is not owned by any subsidiary.
