Gammel Dansk Bitter Dram

Gammel Dansk is a classic Danish bitter liqueur that was originally created by De Danske Spritfabrikker in Roskilde, Denmark, in 1964. It was developed to compete with international bitters and is famous for its complex recipe consisting of 29 different herbs, spices, and flowers from around the world.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Danish culture and was historically produced in Aalborg, production was moved to Norway following the acquisition and subsequent restructuring of the company. Today, the brand is owned by Anora Group, a leading Nordic spirits company formed by the merger of Altia and Arcus. Despite its production location outside of Denmark, it remains an iconic Danish national drink.
