Tuborg Grøn Pilsner

Tuborg Grøn, often simply known as Tuborg Green, is one of Denmark's most iconic and widely consumed pilsners. The brand's history dates back to 1873 when the Tuborg Brewery (Tuborgs Fabrikker) was founded by Philip Heyman, C. F. Tietgen, Gustav Brock, and Rudolph Puggaard in Hellerup, just north of Copenhagen. The flagship Grøn pilsner was first brewed in 1880, quickly becoming a staple in Danish beer culture.

In 1970, Tuborg merged with its larger rival, Carlsberg, to form United Breweries A/S. This merger solidified the brand's position under the Carlsberg Group, which remains the ultimate owner today. While the original brewery in Hellerup closed in the 1990s, Tuborg continues to be a central part of Carlsberg's global portfolio.

Today, Tuborg is a truly international brand sold in more than 70 countries. While it is still brewed in Denmark at Carlsberg's large brewery in Fredericia, it is also produced under license or in local Carlsberg facilities across Europe, Asia, and other regions to meet global demand, making its manufacturing location depend on the specific market where it is purchased.
