Planted plant-based meat alternatives

Planted is a Swiss food tech company specializing in producing plant-based meat alternatives. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich, Planted utilizes innovative structuring and fermentation technologies to create meat-like textures and flavors using plant proteins. The company offers a range of products, including plant-based chicken, kebab, duck, bratwurst, schnitzel, and steak, catering to both retail and food service sectors. In September 2022, Planted successfully closed a Series B financing round of 70 million Swiss francs, led by L Catterton, the world's largest private equity firm in the consumer goods sector. As of January 2026, Planted continues to operate as an independent entity under the ownership of L Catterton, with no known subsidiaries owning the brand locally.
