Langnese ice cream

Langnese is one of Germany's most iconic brands, originally founded in 1927 by businessman Viktor Langnese. While it started as a biscuit and honey company, it evolved into a premier ice cream brand that became a household name across Central Europe. Its trademark 'Heartbrand' logo, featuring a red heart shape, is a global symbol for frozen treats.

For decades, Langnese was part of the Unilever portfolio. However, as of late 2025, Unilever completed a strategic demerger of its entire ice cream division. This resulted in the creation of a new, independent, publicly-traded entity known as The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC). This new company now serves as the ultimate owner of Langnese and other major brands like Ben & Jerry's, Wall's, and Cornetto.

Manufacturing for Langnese remains centered in Heppenheim, Germany, which hosts one of the largest ice cream production facilities in the world. From this site, millions of portions are distributed across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and nearly 20 other countries, maintaining the brand's strong European heritage while operating under its new independent corporate structure.
