Tic Tac is a globally recognized brand of small, hard breath mints first introduced by the Italian confectionery giant Ferrero in 1969. Originally launched as "Refreshing Mints," the product was renamed in 1970 to reflect the signature clicking sound created when opening and closing the flip-top plastic container.
Manufacturing takes place in several locations worldwide to serve different regions. A significant portion of the global supply is produced in Cork, Ireland, while other major facilities are located in Australia, Canada, India, and Ecuador. For the Central European market, including Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the brand is managed by the subsidiary Ferrero Česká s.r.o.
The brand remains under the private ownership of the Ferrero Group, a family-owned multinational headquartered in Italy. Ferrero is one of the largest chocolate and confectionery companies in the world, also known for iconic brands such as Nutella, Kinder, and Ferrero Rocher.
