Crosse & Blackwell is a British food brand established in London in 1706, originally trading under the name Jackson's and later West & Wyatt. The company specialized in condiments, sauces, and preserves. In 1830, Edmund Crosse and Thomas Blackwell acquired the business, and it became known as Crosse & Blackwell. The brand gained prominence for its quality products and was one of the first to secure a royal warrant from Queen Victoria in 1837. Over the years, the company expanded its operations, establishing factories in various countries, including the United States, Canada, and South Africa. In 1960, Crosse & Blackwell was acquired by the Swiss conglomerate Nestlé, which expanded the brand's reach globally. In 2002, Nestlé sold the Crosse & Blackwell operations, leading to a division of ownership: The J.M. Smucker Company acquired the North American rights, Princes Group took over the European rights, and Tiger Brands obtained the South African rights. Today, the brand continues to offer a range of condiments and sauces under the ownership of The J.M. Smucker Company in North America, Princes Group in Europe, and Tiger Brands in South Africa.
