Marabou Frukt & Mandel is a popular Swedish milk chocolate bar that combines smooth milk chocolate with juicy raisins and crunchy almonds. The brand Marabou was established in Sweden in 1916 by the Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst, who had previously launched the same chocolate recipe in Norway under the name Freia. Due to the success of Freia in Norway, the company decided to expand to Sweden during World War I. The name 'Marabou' was chosen for the Swedish market, inspired by the stork depicted in the logo. Production began in 1919 after the end of the war. In 1992, Marabou was acquired by Kraft Foods, which later became Mondelez International, the current owner of the brand. Marabou Frukt & Mandel is produced in Sweden and is a beloved classic among Swedish confectionery enthusiasts.
