BWT Water Filter

BWT, originally known as Benckiser Wassertechnik, was founded in 1823 by Johann Adam Benckiser in Germany. The company specializes in water treatment systems, including equipment and services for filtering and desalinating drinking water, pharmaceutical and process water, and swimming pool water. In 1990, BWT was acquired by Andreas Weißenbacher through a management buyout and renamed BWT. The company was listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange in 1992. As of 2016, BWT reported revenues of €610.04 million and employed approximately 3,300 people. The WAB Group is the principal shareholder of BWT AG, with around 20% of shares owned by diverse shareholders and roughly 6% owned by the company itself. BWT has been involved in various sponsorships, notably in Formula 1, where it has been a sponsor for teams such as Racing Point and Alpine F1 Team, with the team renamed as the BWT Alpine F1 Team in 2022. In 2023, BWT's deal with Alpine was extended to the Alpine Academy's young driver lineup.
