It is renowned for its intense heat and natural recipe, which strictly follows the purity law (Reinheitsgebot) for mustard, containing only mustard seeds, vinegar, salt, and water.

Today, the manufacturing remains centered in Düsseldorf, Germany, maintaining the brand's authentic regional roots. Since 2001, the brand has been part of the Develey Senf & Feinkost group, a family-owned enterprise that has significantly expanded the brand's distribution while preserving the traditional processing methods that make it unique among European condiments.
