Zoégas is a renowned Swedish coffee brand established in 1886 by Carlos and Maria Zoéga in Helsingborg, Sweden. Carlos Zoéga, originally from Sireköpinge, Sweden, spent ten years in Brazil, where he developed a passion for coffee. Upon returning to Sweden in 1881, he began trading coffee beans, and in 1886, he and his wife Maria founded the Zoégas Coffee Roastery in Helsingborg. The brand is celebrated for its dark roasted coffee blends, with notable offerings like 'Mollbergs Blandning' and 'Skånerost.' In 1986, Zoégas was acquired by the Swedish food company Findus. In 2000, Findus was acquired by Nestlé, making Zoégas a part of the Swiss multinational food and beverage conglomerate. Today, Zoégas continues to operate from Helsingborg, Sweden, maintaining its commitment to high-quality coffee production. The brand's dedication to sustainability is evident through its participation in the Rainforest Alliance certification program, ensuring ethically sourced coffee beans from regions like Brazil, Rwanda, and Colombia. Additionally, Zoégas has embraced blockchain technology to enhance supply chain transparency, allowing consumers to trace their coffee from its origins to the roasting process in Helsingborg. This initiative reflects Zoégas' ongoing efforts to innovate and provide consumers with a transparent and sustainable coffee experience.
