Twinings is a historic British tea brand founded by Thomas Twining in 1706 and commonly marketed as Twinings (or Twinings of London). The pictured product is the Twinings Original Earl Grey Tea — a black-tea blend flavoured with bergamot (the classic Earl Grey profile).
Although Twinings is originally a UK brand (R. Twining & Co), its large-scale manufacturing footprint is international. In a restructuring completed around 2011 the company moved the bulk of export and high-volume packing to modern facilities in Poland and expanded production in China, while retaining blending and some UK operations (Andover, Hampshire) for specialized and domestic production. As a result, Twinings products are produced in multiple countries with Poland and China serving as primary manufacturing hubs alongside continued UK activity.
Twinings remains the brand of R. Twining & Co but is owned by Associated British Foods plc (ABF), a London-headquartered multinational food processing and retail group that acquired Twinings in the 1960s. R. Twining & Co Limited operates as the Twinings business unit under ABF ownership.
The packaging in the photo matches Twinings’ retail Earl Grey presentation; no barcode was visible in the image, so a country-of-origin statement on a specific box could vary by SKU and local batch (look at the printed manufacturer line on the carton for the exact factory/country for that pack).
