TABASCO Brand Pepper Sauce - Original Red

TABASCO® Brand Pepper Sauce was created by Edmund McIlhenny in 1868 on Avery Island, Louisiana. The classic Original Red Pepper Sauce is a vinegar-forward hot sauce made from tabasco peppers, salt, and distilled vinegar. Production and bottling have historically been carried out by the McIlhenny Company on Avery Island; while pepper cultivation now also occurs with contracted growers in Central and South America and Africa to ensure consistent supply, the McIlhenny Company remains the originator and primary manufacturer. The brand remains family-owned and operated by the McIlhenny Company, which serves as the ultimate owner and manages global distribution and marketing. TABASCO® is sold worldwide in many bottle sizes (this image shows a small 60 ml style bottle) and is widely recognized for its distinctive diamond label and green cap.
