Santa Maria Black Pepper Tellicherry is a premium whole black peppercorn product (Tellicherry grade) sold under the Santa Maria Extra Fine Selection line. Tellicherry pepper refers to large, aromatic black peppercorns traditionally harvested in the Tellicherry/Thalassery area of Kerala, India.

Manufacturing and sourcing

The raw peppercorns are sourced from India (Kerala/Tellicherry region) where Tellicherry pepper originates. Santa Maria (Paulig Group) purchases whole pepper and performs final processing — including grinding and packaging — in its European facilities, primarily in Mölndal, Sweden and Saue, Estonia.

Brand origin and ownership

Santa Maria began as Nordfalks, a spice trade founded in Gothenburg, Sweden, and later became Santa Maria AB. Today the brand is part of the Paulig Group, a family-owned company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Paulig manages Santa Maria’s sourcing, quality controls and production across multiple European sites.
