Brand origin and history

Eichhorn was founded in 1949 by Hermann Eichhorn in Egglham, Bavaria, and became known for wooden cube puzzles and a popular wooden railway system developed in the 1950s and 1960s. (eichhorn-toys.de)

Acquisition and production move

After financial difficulties in the 1990s, the brand was taken over by the SIMBA DICKIE GROUP (acquisition completed in the late 1990s) and production was moved from its original Bavarian site to the Czech Republic (Netvořice/Unhošť area) while the brand was integrated into the Simba/Dickie group portfolio.
