Tordenskjold is the most iconic brand of matches in Denmark, named after the naval hero Peter Tordenskjold. Originally established in the nineteenth century, these matches were produced domestically in Denmark for decades at the Gosch match factory in Copenhagen. Production was later moved to Sweden following consolidation in the Nordic match industry. Today, the brand is owned by Swedish Match AB, a global leader in tobacco and nicotine products, as well as lighters and matches. The product remains a staple in Danish households, specifically the 'Ekstra Lange' (Extra Long) version depicted in the image, which is designed for lighting fireplaces or candles and is manufactured in Sweden.
