Göteborgs Kex biscuits

Göteborgs Kex is a historic Swedish biscuit brand founded in 1888 and originally produced by Göteborgs Kex Aktiebolag. The brand includes well-known product lines such as Ballerina, Guld Marie and Singoalla and covers both sweet biscuits and savory crackers. Göteborgs Kex became part of the Orkla group in the 1990s and today is managed under Orkla Confectionery & Snacks. In recent years production of many Göteborgs Kex products has been consolidated into Orkla’s facilities in Riga, Latvia (production moved from the historic Kungälv factory), though some product lines and packaging/operations may still involve other Orkla production sites in the Nordic/Baltic region. Orkla ASA, headquartered in Norway, is the ultimate owner; the brand is operated locally by Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Sverige. This structure means the brand is Swedish in origin but currently produced primarily in Latvia within a Norwegian-owned corporate group.
