Canagan is a British-born premium pet food brand developed by Eddie Milbourne and launched in 2012. The brand was created from decades of UK retail and pet-nutrition experience and built around a "ancestral"/high-meat, grain-free positioning for dogs and cats. Canagan grew from the Symply Pet Foods family of brands and has been developed and marketed by the family-owned Symply Pet Foods Ltd (often shown as Symply Group / Canagan Group).
Canagan’s product range includes dry kibble for dogs and cats (its flagship), along with wet/tinned products and region-specific SKUs. Dry food lines are principally manufactured in Great Britain (many product pages and company materials reference "Proudly made in Great Britain" for core dry ranges), but the brand also uses other manufacturing partners by region and SKU: some dry batches and export production have been produced in Germany, certain wet or canned lines have been manufactured in Thailand or New Zealand, and some EU-based facilities are used depending on flavour and market. Because Canagan uses multiple contract/manufacturing partners for different product types and markets, manufacturing occurs across multiple countries, with the UK as the primary production base for core dry ranges.
Canagan was created and is operated by Symply Pet Foods Ltd, a family-owned UK company. As of January 18, 2026, Symply Pet Foods Ltd remains the ultimate owner of the Canagan brand and continues to market it through independent pet-trade channels and regional distributors worldwide. The company retains its headquarters and brand management in the United Kingdom and distributes Canagan in multiple countries through local partners and distributors rather than via global single-channel ownership.
If country-of-origin matters for a specific Canagan SKU, check the product packaging back-panel or the retailer product details: the labelled "Made in" country can vary by SKU and market (e.g., dry kibble commonly states Great Britain, while some export or wet/tinned products may show Germany, Thailand, New Zealand or other EU countries).
