Marabou Dubbel Nougat is a classic Swedish chocolate bar consisting of a smooth, dual-layered hazelnut and almond nougat. The brand Marabou has been a cornerstone of the Swedish confectionery market since its founding in 1916 by Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst, who also established the Freia brand in Norway.
Today, Marabou is owned by the American multinational snack and beverage giant Mondelēz International, which acquired the brand through its purchase of Kraft Foods. While the brand remains deeply Swedish in identity and maintains its primary production facilities in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, its corporate ultimate ownership resides in the United States. The brand continues to be a Royal Warrant holder for the Swedish monarchy.
