ARM Processor

ARM, originally standing for Acorn RISC Machine, is a family of Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) architectures for computer processors. Developed by Acorn Computers Ltd in the United Kingdom, ARM processors are renowned for their energy efficiency and high performance, making them prevalent in mobile devices, tablets, and embedded systems. In 1990, ARM Holdings was established to license the ARM architecture to other companies. Over time, ARM Holdings became a leading provider of processor designs, with its technology being utilized in a vast array of devices worldwide. In 2020, NVIDIA Corporation, an American multinational technology company, announced its intention to acquire ARM Holdings, aiming to enhance its capabilities in artificial intelligence and mobile computing. This acquisition was completed in 2022, making NVIDIA the ultimate owner of the ARM brand. ARM processors are manufactured in multiple countries, with production facilities located in various regions to meet global demand. Despite the widespread manufacturing, ARM's design and development remain closely associated with its origins in the United Kingdom.
