Havana Club is a renowned rum brand that originated in Cuba in 1934, created by José Arechabala S.A. After the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the brand was nationalized, leading to the Arechabala family's exile. In 1994, Bacardi Limited acquired the rights to the original recipe and began producing Havana Club rum in Puerto Rico. The Añejo Clásico variant is aged for up to three years, then blended and aged again for at least three months under the Caribbean sun, resulting in a rich flavor profile with notes of pineapple, apricot, oak, almond, and vanilla. Bacardi Limited, headquartered in Bermuda, is the ultimate owner of the Havana Club brand, with no known subsidiaries owning the brand locally.
