Moser Roth is a German chocolate brand that traces its origins back to 1841 when Wilhelm Roth Jr. founded a pastry shop in Stuttgart. In 1896, the company merged with E. O. Moser & Cie, founded by Eduard Otto Moser in 1846, forming the Moser-Roth brand. The brand was registered in 1902 and became one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in Stuttgart by 1910. However, in 1942, the company was shut down by the Nazi Party, and its factory was destroyed in an air raid in 1944. After the war, the brand changed ownership several times. In 2007, August Storck, a German confectionery company, began producing Moser Roth chocolates for Aldi, making it Aldi's premium chocolate brand. Storck is headquartered in Germany and continues to produce Moser Roth chocolates, primarily in Germany, but also in other locations. The brand is known for its high-quality chocolate products, including dark chocolate bars with varying cocoa content and unique flavors like sea salt caramel and mint. Moser Roth chocolates are available in Aldi stores and select online retailers.
