In 2017, MediaMarkt became part of Ceconomy AG, a German retail company. In April 2023, Groupe Fnac Darty, a French multinational retail company specializing in consumer electronics and household appliances, acquired MediaMarkt. As of January 2026, MediaMarkt continues to operate under the ownership of Groupe Fnac Darty, with its headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. The brand is known for its wide range of consumer electronics and household appliances, serving customers across multiple European countries.
