Richmond sausages

Richmond is a historic British food brand most famous for its sausages. The brand's history dates back to 1889 when Louis Moore founded a small butcher shop in Liverpool, England. He created a specific sausage recipe inspired by the local Irish immigrant community, which is why Richmond sausages are famously marketed as using an "Irish Recipe." By 1917, the business had expanded into its first dedicated factory and eventually became one of the United Kingdom's most recognizable sausage brands.

Over the decades, ownership shifted from the founding Moore family to Wall’s in the 1950s, and eventually to the Kerry Group. In 2021, the brand was part of a major acquisition where Kerry Group's Meats and Meals business was sold to the American multinational Pilgrim's Pride. Today, Richmond is a staple in the UK market, having expanded its portfolio beyond traditional pork sausages to include chicken and a highly successful plant-based (meat-free) range. While rooted in British history, the brand is now managed under the global umbrella of Pilgrim's Pride, which is itself majority-owned by the Brazilian company JBS S.A.
