Fox's Biscuits

Fox's is a storied British brand with a split legacy in the confectionery and biscuit markets. The brand originated in 1853 when Michael Spedding began baking brandy snaps in Batley, West Yorkshire. His son-in-law, Fred Ellis Fox, took over the business in 1897 and renamed it F. E. Fox & Co, which eventually became the heavy-hitter in the UK biscuit market known as Fox's Biscuits.

Today, the brand operates under two primary ownership structures depending on the product line. The biscuit division, including famous products like Party Rings and Rocky bars, is owned by Fox's Burton's Companies (FBC UK), which is a subsidiary of the Italian confectionery giant Ferrero. Following a 2020 acquisition from 2 Sisters Food Group and a subsequent merger with Burton’s Biscuits in 2022, Ferrero consolidated its position in the UK market. Manufacturing remains primarily centered in the UK, at historic sites in Batley and Kirkham.

Separately, Fox's Confectionery, famous for 'Fox's Glacier Mints' (invented by Eric Fox in 1918), follows a different ownership path. This branch was acquired by the Irish-based Valeo Foods in 2015. While the brands share a common historical lineage from the Fox family in England, they are managed by different parent companies as of 2026.
