Blackwell's Bookshop

Blackwell's is a renowned British academic book retailer and library supply service, founded in 1879 by Benjamin Henry Blackwell in Oxford, England. Over the years, it expanded to operate 18 shops and a library supply service, employing around 1,000 staff. In February 2022, Blackwell's was acquired by Waterstones Booksellers Limited, a leading UK book retailer headquartered in London. Waterstones, owned by the American investment group Elliott Investment Management, operates 317 shops across the UK and other countries. Despite the acquisition, Blackwell's continues to operate under its original name, maintaining its legacy in academic bookselling.
