Costa Coffee is one of the world's most recognizable coffeehouse brands, known for its signature Mocha Italia blend and extensive range of ready-to-drink products. Founded in London in 1971 by brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa, the brand began as a wholesale operation supplying roasted coffee to caterers and Italian coffee shops. It eventually transitioned into a retail powerhouse, establishing coffee shops across the United Kingdom and expanding internationally into dozens of countries.

The manufacturing and roasting operations are still deeply rooted in the United Kingdom, specifically at the Basildon roastery, which is one of the largest in Europe. However, because the brand offers a wide array of packaged goods, including canned lattes and bottled beverages, production often occurs in multiple countries through bottling partners and local subsidiaries to meet regional demand.

In a landmark deal in 2019, the brand was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company from its previous owner, Whitbread. This transition moved the brand into the portfolio of one of the world's largest beverage companies, facilitating its global distribution in retail environments alongside its traditional cafe business. Today, Costa remains a premier coffee brand headquartered in London, operating under the vast strategic umbrella of the Coca-Cola corporate structure.
