Bisto is one of the most iconic British food brands, first introduced in 1908 by the Cerebos company. Originally created as a meat-flavored gravy powder, the name 'Bisto' is an acronym for 'Browns, Irons and Seasons Twice as Once.' The brand became a household name largely due to its famous 'Bisto Kids' advertising campaign and the 'Aah! Bisto' slogan, which evoke the comforting aroma of a traditional Sunday roast.

Today, Bisto is primarily manufactured at the Premier Foods facility in Ashford, Kent. While it is exported globally to markets with a British diaspora, its production remains deeply rooted in the United Kingdom. The brand has expanded from its original powder format to include granulated 'Best' versions and ready-to-use liquid sauces.

In terms of ownership, Bisto has transitioned through several major food giants. After the acquisition of Cerebos by Ranks Hovis McDougall (RHM) in the 1960s, the brand eventually became a flagship product for Premier Foods. Premier Foods continues to be the ultimate owner and distributor, solidifying Bisto's status as a quintessential staple of British culinary heritage.
