The brand's modern era began in 1983 when British businessman John Bloor purchased the rights to the name after the original company, Triumph Engineering, went into receivership. Under his ownership, the brand was completely revitalized with a focus on modern engineering while maintaining its heritage aesthetic, eventually becoming the largest British-owned motorcycle manufacturer in the world.
