E.Leclerc

E.Leclerc is a French cooperative of independent retailers operating hypermarkets, supermarkets, and other retail formats. Founded in 1948 by Édouard Leclerc in Brittany, France, the cooperative has grown to become a leading retailer in France and has expanded internationally. As of 2024, E.Leclerc operates 726 stores in France and 84 stores across six other countries, including Poland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, and Andorra. The cooperative's own brand ranges include Marque Repère and Eco+, and it also offers services such as E.Leclerc Mobile and E.Leclerc Voyages. The cooperative is managed by a central buying group, the Groupement d'achats des centres E.Leclerc (GALEC), which coordinates purchasing and logistics for its member stores. The cooperative's revenue in 2022 was €67.3 billion, making it the largest retailer in France. The cooperative is headquartered in Ivry-sur-Seine, France, and is managed by Michel-Édouard Leclerc, the son of the founder, who serves as the President of the cooperative.
