Rowntree's is a British confectionery brand founded in 1862 by Henry Isaac Rowntree in York, England. The company is renowned for its fruit-flavored candies, notably Fruit Pastilles, which were introduced in 1881. Over the years, Rowntree's expanded its product line to include other popular sweets such as Fruit Gums, Jelly Tots, and Smarties. In 1969, Rowntree's merged with John Mackintosh & Co., forming Rowntree Mackintosh Confectionery, which produced iconic products like Kit Kat and Aero. In 1988, Nestlé acquired Rowntree Mackintosh Confectionery, integrating its brands into the Nestlé portfolio. Today, Rowntree's continues to operate under Nestlé, maintaining its legacy of producing beloved confectionery items in the United Kingdom and other locations.
