Connemara is a distinctive peated single malt Irish whiskey produced by the Cooley Distillery, located on the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Ireland. Established in 1987 by entrepreneur John Teeling, Cooley Distillery is renowned for its traditional distilling methods and high-quality spirits. Connemara stands out as the only widely available Irish peated single malt whiskey, offering a unique smoky character reminiscent of Scotch whiskies. The production process involves drying malted barley over peat fires, imparting a distinct peaty flavor and aroma to the whiskey.
