West Cork Distillers is an independent Irish distillery established in 2003 by childhood friends John O’Connell, Denis McCarthy, and Ger McCarthy. Located in Skibbereen, County Cork, the distillery has grown to become one of Ireland's largest independently owned distilleries, operating from a 12.5-acre site on Marsh Road. The distillery boasts a distillation capacity of 4 million liters of pure alcohol and employs over 80 people, with the majority based locally in West Cork. West Cork Distillers produces a range of products, including single malts, blended whiskeys, and gins, which are sold in almost 70 countries worldwide. The company emphasizes the use of local ingredients and traditional methods in its production processes, aiming to deliver high-quality, authentic Irish spirits to consumers globally.
