BIC is a legendary French brand established in 1945 by Marcel Bich and Édouard Buffard. While initially famous for its ballpoint pens, the company revolutionized the personal care industry in 1975 with the launch of the BIC 1, the world’s first one-piece disposable razor. This move democratized grooming by making high-quality shaving tools affordable and accessible to the general public.

Today, BIC's shaving division is powered by high-tech manufacturing, with its largest global production hub located at BIC Violex in Greece. This facility alone produces millions of shavers weekly, most of which are exported to North America and Europe. Despite its massive global scale and manufacturing plants across several continents, BIC remains a publicly traded company on the Euronext Paris exchange, with the founding Bich family still holding a significant controlling interest in the brand.
