Annas Pepparkakor is a quintessential Swedish brand, famous for its thin and crispy gingerbread biscuits known as pepparkakor. The brand's history dates back to 1929 when sisters Anna and Emma Karlsson opened a small home bakery in the Östermalm district of Stockholm. Their ginger thins quickly gained popularity, eventually leading the company to expand into a global brand that represents Swedish fika culture.

Today, the production is concentrated in Tyresö, Sweden, where the biscuits are baked following the original secret recipe. While the brand started as a local family business, it underwent a significant change in ownership in 2008. It is currently owned by the Belgian confectionery group Lotus Bakeries, which has helped distribute Annas products to over 20 countries worldwide. Despite being part of an international holding, the brand maintains its Royal Warrant of Appointment from the King of Sweden, underscoring its cultural heritage.
