Atom Universe

Atom Republic is a UK-based independent developer and publishing studio, established in 2012, specializing in creating innovative content for online virtual worlds. Their flagship product, Atom Universe, is a cross-platform virtual world that allows PlayStation and PC players to interact, chat, play games, and socialize. The company was founded by Tanguy Dewavrin and Alex Grona, who have extensive experience in the gaming industry. In 2019, Atom Republic launched The Character of Islay Whisky Company, releasing Islay whiskies that play on the mythical notions of the island, with tongue-in-cheek names and exceptional peat-forward liquid. In 2025, Atom Republic became part of Atom Group, a pioneering global drinks group encompassing the full life-cycle of spirits, from inception, prototyping, production, and brand ownership with Atom Brands; through import, distribution, and brand development via Maverick Drinks; to global online retail at Master of Malt. This acquisition has expanded Atom Republic's portfolio and capabilities in the spirits industry.
