Karamalz is a non-alcoholic malt beverage with a distinctive caramel flavor, produced by the Henninger Brewery since 1955. Initially introduced as 'Henninger Karamel strong beer' in the Frankfurt region, it was rebranded to 'Karamel strong beer' in 1958 and later to 'Karamalz' in 1961. In 2001/2002, the brand was acquired by the Eichbaum Brewery in Mannheim, which continued its production. In October 2025, Eichbaum sold the Karamalz brand rights to the Veltins Brewery, a renowned German brewery headquartered in Meschede-Grevenstein, North Rhine-Westphalia. Veltins had temporarily managed the national distribution of Karamalz from March to September 2024 and plans to relocate its production to the Sauerland region. Karamalz is available in various flavors, including the classic malt, lemon, and pomegranate, catering to a wide audience seeking a refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage.
