Calvin Klein is a world-renowned lifestyle brand founded in 1968 by the iconic designer Calvin Klein and his business partner Barry Schwartz. Originally establishing itself as a coat shop in New York City, the brand quickly expanded into sportswear and revolutionized the apparel industry in the 1970s and 80s with its minimalist aesthetic and provocative advertising for designer jeans.
While the brand's design and creative identity remain deeply rooted in New York, the manufacturing of its garments, including denim and underwear, is outsourced globally. Production typically occurs in countries such as Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, India, and Sri Lanka to take advantage of large-scale textile infrastructures. Today, Calvin Klein is no longer an independent company, having been acquired by PVH Corp. (formerly Phillips-Van Heusen) in 2003, which continues to oversee its global expansion and diverse product lines.
