Sensodyne is a globally recognized brand specializing in oral health products for sensitive teeth. It was originally developed by Block Drug, a company based in Brooklyn, New York, in the early 1960s. The brand gained immense popularity due to its focus on strontium chloride (and later potassium nitrate) to help alleviate dental hypersensitivity.

In 2001, the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) acquired Block Drug, bringing Sensodyne into its consumer healthcare portfolio. In 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into a new independent company named Haleon. Today, Haleon is the ultimate owner of the Sensodyne brand. Manufacturing occurs in various international locations depending on the region of sale, including the United Kingdom, Slovakia, and the United States, to meet global demand.
