Modelo Especial is a world-renowned pilsner-style lager known for its clean, crisp taste and iconic gold-foiled neck. Originally brewed in 1925 in Tacuba, Mexico, the brand was established by Cervecería Modelo, which would later grow into one of the largest brewing groups in the world.

Today, the brand's ownership is split due to antitrust regulations. Globally, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) owns the brand after acquiring Grupo Modelo. However, for the United States market, the rights to brew, market, and distribute Modelo are held by Constellation Brands. Despite the corporate ownership split, the beer continues to be manufactured primarily in large-scale breweries located in Mexico to maintain its traditional profile.
