Oscar Mayer is a legendary American brand originally founded in Chicago in 1883 by German immigrant Oscar F. Mayer. Historically, the brand was part of the Kraft Foods portfolio. Following the merger of Kraft and Heinz in 2015, the brand became part of the Kraft Heinz Company. However, in Europe and specifically Spain, the business and production rights were transferred to Campofrio Food Group. Campofrio itself is a subsidiary of Sigma Alimentos, an international food leader based in Mexico. This ensures that while the brand identity remains American, the supply chain is localized.
