Parodontax is a toothpaste brand originally developed in 1937 by German dentist Dr. Focke. The product was initially based on sodium bicarbonate and was later acquired by German pharmaceutical company Madaus GmbH, which enhanced it with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial herbal extracts. In 2001, the brand was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), which continued production according to the original recipe. In 2017, the herbal extracts were removed, and the toothpaste was reformulated with stannous fluoride and sodium bicarbonate. In 2022, GSK demerged its consumer healthcare division, leading to the formation of Haleon plc, which became the ultimate owner of the Parodontax brand. Parodontax toothpaste is manufactured in multiple countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, to serve a global market. The brand offers a range of oral care products, including the Complete Protection Whitening Toothpaste, designed to help reduce gum bleeding and protect against gum disease. The toothpaste is formulated with stannous fluoride to strengthen teeth and provide fresh breath. It is recommended to brush for two minutes, twice daily, to achieve optimal results.
