Trigema is a renowned German company specializing in the production of sports and leisurewear, as well as underwear and nightwear for men, women, and children. Founded in 1919 by the Mayer brothers, the company has a rich history of over a century in the textile industry. The name 'Trigema' is an acronym derived from 'TRIkotwarenfabriken GEbrüder MAyer' (Knitwear Factories Mayer Brothers).
The company is headquartered in Burladingen, located in the Swabian Alb region of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Trigema is recognized as Germany's largest manufacturer of sports and casual fashion, with all production processes—ranging from knitting, washing, dyeing, finishing, printing, to garment assembly—conducted in-house. This vertical integration ensures strict quality control and supports local economic cycles while reducing environmental impact.
Under the leadership of Wolfgang Grupp, who assumed the role of CEO in 1969, Trigema has maintained a strong commitment to domestic manufacturing. The company employs approximately 1,200 individuals and produces around 20,000 items of clothing daily, utilizing ten tons of raw material. Classic products such as single jersey shirts, piqué polo shirts, and sweatshirts account for about 70% of production.
Trigema's dedication to sustainability is evident in its adoption of environmentally friendly practices. The company offers products made from 100% organic cotton, optimized according to Cradle to Cradle standards, ensuring that all materials are positively defined and can be safely returned to the biological cycle.
In 2024, the fourth generation of the Grupp family, Wolfgang and Bonita Grupp, took over the management of Trigema, continuing the legacy of quality and innovation in German textile manufacturing.
