Aylmer Tomato Soup

Aylmer is a historic Canadian brand that has been a staple in kitchens across the country for over a century. The brand name was originally registered in 1881 by seven businessmen in Aylmer, Ontario. Initially focused on local vegetable canning, it grew into one of the most recognizable labels in Canada.

Starting in 2007, the soup division was acquired from CanGro Foods (a former subsidiary of Kraft and later Sun Capital Partners) by Baxters Canada, the local arm of the Scottish Baxters Food Group. In 2018, the business underwent a significant ownership change when Baxters Canada Inc. (BCI) was purchased by a group of Quebec-based investors led by Champlain Financial Corporation. This move brought the brand back into 100% Canadian ownership.

Today, the product is proudly manufactured at BCI Foods' facility in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. The company emphasizes the use of Canadian-grown ingredients and traditional recipes to differentiate itself from multinational competitors, positioning itself as a leader in both national brand and private label soup production.
