Mirabell Mozartkugeln are a renowned Austrian confectionery consisting of a marzipan center, surrounded by layers of light and dark chocolate praline cream, and coated in rich dark chocolate. The original recipe was created in 1890 by Salzburg confectioner Paul Fürst, who named the treat after composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The confectionery is traditionally handmade, with each piece placed on a stick before being dipped in chocolate to achieve a perfectly round shape. In 1997, Mondelez International, a multinational company headquartered in the United States, began distributing Mozartkugeln under the Mirabell brand. The product is manufactured in Austria, with the subsidiary Mondelez Österreich GmbH overseeing its production. Mirabell Mozartkugeln are widely available in Austria and can also be found in German, Swiss, and Dutch supermarkets, as well as online retailers. (shop.frankfurt-airport.com)
