AliExpress is a global online retail marketplace launched in 2010. It is composed of small businesses in China and other locations, such as Singapore, that offer products to international online buyers. It facilitates small businesses to sell to customers all over the world, and one can find almost anything for sale on the platform.

Originally conceived as a business-to-business (B2B) buying and selling portal, it has since expanded to include business-to-consumer (B2C), consumer-to-consumer, cloud computing, and payment services. While the platform itself acts as an intermediary and does not manufacture products, its primary operations and the majority of its merchant base are located in China.

The service is owned by the Alibaba Group, one of the world's largest retailers and e-commerce companies. Alibaba Group is headquartered in Hangzhou, China, and manages a vast ecosystem of digital commerce, media, and technology subsidiaries worldwide.
