Voltaren Forte gel

Voltaren is one of the world's most recognized brands for topical pain relief. Originally developed in Switzerland by the pharmaceutical company Ciba-Geigy (which later became part of Novartis in 1996), the brand is centered around the active ingredient diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Over the decades, Voltaren evolved from a prescription-only treatment to a leading over-the-counter (OTC) global brand.

In 2015, a significant joint venture between Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) brought the brand under the GSK Consumer Healthcare umbrella. In July 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into an independent, publicly-traded company called Haleon plc. Today, Haleon is the ultimate owner of the brand, managing its global distribution and marketing. While the brand has Swiss roots, the specific 'Forte' variant shown in the image is widely manufactured in Germany (often at Haleon's plants) to supply various European markets.
