Turkisk Peppar, known as Tyrkisk Peber in Denmark and Norway, is a classic salty licorice candy flavored with ammonium chloride (salmiak). It was first introduced in 1977 by the Danish company Perelly and was later acquired by the Finnish company Fazer in 1996. The candy features a hard shell filled with salmiak powder, offering a distinctive and intense flavor that has become popular in Northern Europe. Fazer, headquartered in Finland, continues to produce and distribute Turkisk Peppar, maintaining its status as a beloved confectionery among licorice enthusiasts.
